These little migrating birds have been found around town this year. They come down during a storm and try to find water. There isn't a lot of water around here so they end up dying if not taken to a body of water where they can take off again. I missed the first couple of times this happened but not this time! We found this one in our back yard and luckily Bell didn't see it.
It's an ugly little bird with creepy red eyes.
The kids were excited to take it to some water and save the poor thing. (OK, I was too)!
Juel wanted to release it but he was too scared. So I got the duty!
