Tucson Trip

My sister's team won the state Junior League Softball tournament and were heading to Tuscon Arizona to play in the Western Regionals tournament.  My parents and I kept trying to decide if we really wanted to drive the 10 hours down for it.   My girls have never been good travelers and Jared couldn't come.  They often cry just the drive to St. George and the farthest they've gone is Salt Lake so I was really worried.  I decided to just go for it.
They did amazing!  They were the best 2-year-olds!  I wondered if they were even my girls  because they were so good!
We stopped at Navajo Bridge giving them a good place to run and stretch.
We stay at Flagstaff the first night to break up the trip a little.  Juel wouldn't eat at Quizno's with us and said his tummy hurt but when we were driving away dad mentioned shrimp at Long John Silver's and Juel really wanted some.  So we made a special stop for his popcorn shrimp and his tummy magically felt better and he ate it all gone.

We went out to dinner with Nate and Jacque and had a yummy Mexican dinner.
We really enjoyed watching the team play.  They lost the first game :(
Juel had the pool to himself.  We had a great time just swimming at the hotel pool!
Can you tell the kids helped themselves to a bag of suckers.
Eva and Anna Cheering for the team.
We won the second game yea!
We visited the Zoo there that had all the animals you would find in the dessert.
It's hard to see but there is a hummingbird right above Anna's head.  This was a fun place because the birds would fly right up to you and just stare at you.  One even tried to eat from the flower on her head.
We love being twins!

Juel is the best big brother!
The large Cactus's were so big and fun to look at.

There was a pretty view from the zoo.
Juel and I left the twins with grandma and grandpa while we cruzed through the zoo.  We saw snakes, spiders, bobcat, bear, skunk, and porcupine but Juels favorite was a little fossil stand where a 16-year-old kid told us about the time of the mammoths and Juel got to hold it's large tooth.
Playing with cousin Kynlee during the last game.  We lost this one but the girls played a great game!
Our plan was to drive all the way home on Sunday and only spend the night somewhere if the girls couldn't take it.  This was our first stop at a beautiful rest stop going up the mountains to Flagstaff.   So far they were really good.

We Kept on driving to Flagstaff and took a long detour thanks to our non-trusting GPS and a long break at the park.  Then we drove all the way to Hurricane and stopped at Mcdonalds for dinner.  So far there has been no crying at all!  The kids didn't want to get back in the car for our last hour of the trip so we got them ice cream cones and they jumped right in and were good the rest of the way!
I'm so happy that my kids were so good and now I look forward to our next road trip with them!  Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and California were coming to see you!

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD A TON OF FUN! LONG TRIPS ARE NOT ALWAYS FUN WITH LITTLE KIDS. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A GIRL THAT NEEDS TO PEE EVERY 30 MIN. I'M JEALOUS. TUSCON HAS A LOT OF GREAT PLACES TO GO. I SPENT A SUMMER AT U OF A IN HIGH SCHOOL.
